I recently completed the Laravel Backend Developer course from Quera College, a program designed to simulate real-world backend challenges and deepen understanding of Laravel at a professional level.
The course covered everything from fundamentals to advanced topics: routing, middleware, requests, Blade, Eloquent, authentication, queues, events, emails, service providers, containers, testing, and deployment — all taught through detailed lesson-based modules rather than video tutorials.
Each lesson included exercises reviewed by mentors, which made the process highly interactive and demanding. What I appreciated most was that solutions weren’t handed to you. You had to dig through the official Laravel documentation and find your own answers — a skill that proved to be just as valuable as the course itself.
Getting the highest-level certificate after completing all tasks with full points was a great feeling. It wasn’t easy: some exercises took several attempts, and I avoided using the “hint” feature since it would reduce the final score.
